How Investors Use Our Calculators

Investors constantly need to do financial calculations and analysis. SolveIT! has been helping investors with these calculations for over twenty years. Since the recent release of v6.0, SolveIT! now has over 40 calculators. The calculators are designed to do everything from the very simple, such as calculating a future value to prepare sophisticated cash flow schedules with changing amounts, rates and dates. Since SolveIT! now includes C-Value!, you can even use its loan servicing abilities to record and track payments on a loan if underwrite mortgages.

What SolveIT! Calculators Do Investors Find Useful?

Let's start off by stating that SolveIT! is able to calculate loan amounts, payment amounts, terms, interest rates, as well as PV, FV, NPV & IRR. These are pretty standard financial calculations, and by themselves, they would not be a big deal. (Even though the way we have implemented these calculations gives you more flexibility than 90% of the calculators out there.) Where SolveIT! shines is in its analytical abilities. Let us just point out some of the calculators that investors typically find useful:

  • C-Value, The Cash Value Calculator: Create schedules with cash flows on any date. Use this calculator to service a mortgage or any other loan or to audit interest paid or received.
  • Rental Property Cash Flow Analysis: Do you invest in rental properties? If so, you can prepare a rental income cash flow analysis. Use this to see if a prospective property will be profitable. Takes into account various occupancy rates, a user determined inflation rate, taxes, and many more variables.
  • Internal Rate of Return: This calculator calculates an annualized rate of return. You can use it to calculate your rate of return on any and all investment classes. Sure, your broker may give you a report showing you your rate of return on your stock or bond portfolio, but it will not include the ROI from other asset class that you may own, such as real estate.
  • Goal Planning Adviser: Financial planning is all about achieving financial goals. Many financial goals don't require a single future amount but rather they call for a future cash flow. (Two obvious goals are retirement or a child's future education.) The question is, how is that cash flow goal achieved? Use the goal planner and solve for any unknown.
  • Bond Calculator: Calculate values and yields and close to a dozen other attributes.
  • Option Calculators: Calculate the price as well as the Greeks. Calculate volatility using data provided by Yahoo.com.
